What is an express grant?
The Foundation will fund Express Grants up to $300 for a project that involves a single classroom. Express Grants are awarded on a rolling basis. what is an innovation grant?
Innovation Grants, requests of over $300, are awarded prior to each trimester and prior to Summer Academy. do i need to include a detailed budget?
Yes. The application form identifies what to include and how. can i add the cost of new equipment to the budget?
Generally, equipment alone does not qualify for a grant. Equipment required to complete a project or implement a program that meets the mission of the Foundation will be considered. Equipment upgrades are considered on an individual basis. can i submit more than one application?
You may, however, a maximum of one Innovation and one Express grant will be approved for the same educator in a given school year. where do i send my completed application?
Grant requests must be submitted through the EASDEF Grants Portal. how does the evaluation process work?
Applications received on time are provided to members of the Foundation’s board. Each board member reads the grant applications. The board will review the merits of each application and makes funding recommendations. how can i find out the status of my application?
Grant applicants are notified by email that their application has been received by the Foundation. Applicants may be contacted during the review process for additional information. Letters announcing grant approval or denial are provided from the Foundation office typically within one week of the Foundation’s Board of Directors meeting. what if i fail to complete a project?
Applicants are responsible for completing a brief Final Report upon the conclusion of their project or Professional Development opportunity. All receipts are to be sent to the Foundation with this report. If you are unable to complete the project, please let us know. Upon completion of the report, the Foundation will reimburse the Elkhorn Area School District up to the amount of the awarded grant. Does the easdef fund technology requests?
The Elkhorn Area School District Foundation believes in outfitting classrooms with new technology as it advances learning for all students. Technology funding requests should have the support and approval of the building principal and Technology Supervisor before submission to the EASDEF Board. The EASDEF favor requests that use technology in new ways and/or as a means to pilot a technology that has not yet been used within EASD. if i have additional questions, who can I contact?
