The Foundation is recognized under state and federal law as a 501(c)3 charitable, tax-exempt organization. The Board of Directors carefully oversees donations and grants to be the best possible stewards of Foundation resources. how are the foundation's directors chosen?
The Foundation Board of Directors consists of seven members, comprised of District Administrator of the Elkhorn Area School District, and the Community Engagement Coordinator of the Elkhorn Area School District, as well as an additional five community members who serve three-year terms. No director serves more than two consecutive terms, save for the District Administrator and Community Engagement Coordinator who serve continuously as directors, so long as they remain at Elkhorn Area School District. Are any salaries paid out of funds donated to the foundation?
